September Garden Tour After A Week of Heavy Rain 🌳🌼

Welcome to our English garden at the beginning of September 2025. Late summer is a beautiful time in the garden and, after a long dry summer, we’ve just enjoyed a week of rain, quite often very heavy, and the garden has loved every minute of it.

We live in Essex which is in on the South East coast of England, in the equivalent of a USDA zone 8b. But that equates more to the mildness of our winters (most years) rather than the heat of our summers.

We have been living here for 20 years this November, and started posting our garden journey in February 2020 not knowing that just one month later there would be the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic when literally the whole world went into Lockdown. It seems surreal to me and unbelievable to look back and realise that actually did happen.

This year we have made quite a few changes with lots of very lovely plant additions so I hope you enjoy seeing our garden on this late summer garden tour … because before long those leaves on the trees on the other side of our fences are all going to come down and I’ll be clearing away leaves for weeks on end once more!!
