Unreleased Savatage | Criss Oliva's Avatar | Demos 1981 - 1982 B Side

Savatage started out as a cover band in the Tampa Bay Area known as "Metropolis". Metropolis soon playing more originals than covers began billing themselves as "Avatar". These Avatar songs along with the ones recorded for Sirens and the Dungeons are calling all came from this time period. When the band got signed to Atlantic records on the night before the new band's merch was to come out the gang got a call from the label saying they could not use the name Avatar because a band in Europe already had it. They needed to come up with a new name on the spot as literally the merch was being held up in production waiting on a new name. Jon Oliva thinking quickly reworked Avatar into the now famous Savatage and the rest is history. This is the main reason why there is no Savatage logo for those releases as the logo was deigned for Avatar, so for that pressing they just used a regular stock type font. Since those humble beginnings they struggled, perceivered, and ultimately triumphed. Criss Oliva's legacy is already felt the world over, may he "Rest In Party" this compilation is in honor and in memory of what he was a huge part and starting and ultimately defining the dominating sounds of what is expected from a Savatage albulm. This upcoming April 2024 we wll finally get the long anticipated and awaited Savatage Album tentatively titled Savatage "Curtain Call" but since it is tentative other alternate title might be, Savatage, "The Dungeons are Calling Again". what do you guys think about the new titles for the upcoming Savatage album, let me know in the coments below!
