This covers days 2, 3, 4, 5 of our 94 day RV Journey. All of the hiking activities take place in the Kanab, Utah area but we do cross in and out of AZ as well. To start there is a 37.5 mile drive from Kanab on US 89 to the turn off, House Rock Valley Road, that is a rough dirt road 8.3 miles south to the Wire Pass Trailhead. There are many warnings about trying to travel this road if it is wet. During the rainy season and the winter months, the road may become impassable for all vehicles, even those with four-wheel-drive. There is a permit fee for day use and can be purchased online or at the trail head. The Wire Pass Trailhead is were you go to access the trail to The Wave, as well. The Wave permits are done by lottery, online, or in person, everyday, in Kanab. Very limited amount of hikers allowed daily. We were extremely lucky!
