I went hiking on Blood Mountain in North Georgia… and halfway through my hike, a helicopter started circling the summit. Rangers told me they were searching for a 67-year-old missing hiker named Charles who had been lost for days.
In this video I take you through the full hike — the trail, the lookout points, what I saw, and what it felt like to be on the mountain during an active search & rescue operation.

• Tell someone where you’re going
• Carry a map or offline GPS
• Be prepared for fast-changing conditions
This was a beautiful hike with an unexpected twist, but also a lesson in trail safety and awareness.
