Brigadier Shamsher Singh (Retd) was a young Captain with less than three years of service when the 1965 war broke out.
As a Brigade Signals officer, it was his job to ensure communication between the advancing Infantry battalions and the brigade headquarters.
In this role, he had a front row seat and was a participant in not only the operations, but also in the planning stages of the operations.
