2025 Artists-in-Residence Matthew Sabatella & the Rambling String Band perform The Carter Family's arrangement of "Keep on the Sunny Side." This recording and the footage is taken from their week-long residency in Tallahassee, FL, where the group performed in a variety of audiences and locations ranging from school auditoriums to dance halls. Made up of Matthew Sabatella, Jack Stamates, Chris DeAngelis, and Sean Edelson, this Hollywood, FL, ensemble performs a variety of American musical genres and styles while adding historical context and background. The historical work is also grounded in Matthew Sabatella's own project, Ballad of America, a nonprofit organization which celebrates the wide array of American musical traditions.
