Performed live at the renowned Fes Festival of World Sacred Music 2024, ‘La Llave’ is a breathtaking reinterpretation of a centuries-old Andalusian folk song, masterfully brought to life by British composer Sami Yusuf and a lineup of world-class musicians. This musically rich piece showcases a unique blend of cultures, with new Spanish lyrics seamlessly intertwined with the original Arabic poem to create a deeply moving musical experience.
Sami Yusuf's iconic vocals are complemented by the evocative cante flamenco of Israel Moro and the hauntingly beautiful mawwals performed by Nabyla Maan and Ismail Boujia. Their combined artistry brings emotional depth and authenticity to this powerful tribute to Andalusian heritage.
