The Lancaster Amish have moved away from ground driven farm implements to PTO driven implements. With no tractors being allowed for field work they have gone to using powered fore carts pulled by a team of horses. With the horse providing the power to pull the implements and the diesel engine providing the power to the implement they have struck a compromise with the advances in technology.
