On 20th November 2024, our school will be hosting a special event to celebrate the rich and vibrant culture of Baltistan. Balti Culture Day is an opportunity for students and faculty to come together and appreciate the traditions, customs, and heritage of the people of Baltistan.
Event Highlights:
1. Traditional Balti Music and Dance – Students will perform traditional Balti songs and dances, showcasing the region’s lively cultural expressions.
2. Balti Cuisine Tasting – A selection of traditional Balti dishes, including thukpa, chapshoro, and balay, will be served for students and teachers to enjoy.
3. Cultural Exhibition – A display of Balti crafts, textiles, and art will highlight the unique skills and artistic heritage of the region.
4. Guest Speakers – Local community leaders and experts in Baltistani history and culture will give talks about the significance of Balti traditions and their place in the broader cultural landscape.
5. Fashion Show – Students will showcase traditional Balti attire, such as the pheran and chupa, to highlight the region’s distinctive fashion.
6. Interactive Workshops – Hands-on workshops where students can learn traditional Balti crafts like embroidery or pottery.
Dress Code:
Everyone is encouraged to wear traditional Balti-inspired clothing for the day. It’s a wonderful chance to connect with this fascinating culture and show support for its preservation.
