Dann Huff (Michael Bolton) - Soul Provider Rhythm Guitar Part 1

I have always worked towards being as well rounded a guitarist as possible.

When I first started playing guitar this song was Huge and this style of guitar absolutely captured my imagination.

Playing like this from @dannhuff on the @michaelbolton hit song “Soul Provider” always inspired me just as much as his incredible lead playing.

I would argue that this type of playing is exponentially harder, at least for me, than most of the difficult solos I’ve learned over the years.

Learning these parts and (almost!) playing them correctly is 10% of the equation.

Imagine walking in cold to a session and hearing the track with no guitars on it… and then creating/hearing (in your head) this amazing guitar arrangement, that complements the track perfectly, off the top of your head… Then playing it flawlessly.

I find that astonishing.

It’s what makes players like @dannhuff exceptional.

It’s always been the bar I’m trying to reach.

Great guitar playing regardless of style.
