The Madras High Court has cracked the whip on Tamil Nadu Forest Minister K Ponmudy for lewd and sexist comments regarding women at a rally recently. The court, in an unprecedented ruling, called such remarks targeting and berating women hate speech. It directed the DGP to file an FIR against the leader, saying that hate speech by ministers must be taken seriously.
