Since his unexpected loss in 2020, honoring the life and legacy of D.C.-based retail and underground club DJ Sam "The Man" Burns has become a bi-annual explosion of dance culture that opens and closes the summer season in the city (CapHouseFest). In this clip we feature highlights from the 1st Annual Sam "The Man" Burns Day and street-renaming ceremony that occurred while a nearly 24-hour music mix session was featured on WPFW 89.3FM. Spearheaded by his widow Rita Burns, this amazing event earned her the 3rd spot on our best of 2024 list.
