There’s nothing boring about a tidal bore: it’s a pretty dramatic sight to witness.
The Petitcodiac River is a rather modest, 49-mile/79-kilometer-long river that flows into the Bay of Fundy, between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The Bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world. As a result of the powerful high tides, twice each day, this river flows backward with the incoming high tide. The incoming wave has been recorded as high as several feet and surfers often ride those waves for extended distances.
