How to Perform the "Rare Announcement" Trick on an Otis

Instead of a regular throwback thursday video, I will be showing you how to get the Otis to say "We're experiencing technical difficulties" from start to finish, as of what I've showed you on Tuesday. The first attempt failed because the door didn't budge open for a few inches. Again, the elevator has been placed back into normal service and the service cabinet was closed and locked after stopping the video. Here's how it works:

1. Get in the elevator and select a floor.
2. While the elevator is in motion, turn on Independent Service.
3. Note that the selected floor has been cancelled. Quickly select a floor while the elevator is slowing down.
4. Hover over the door open button. DO NOT HOLD IT DOWN! Otherwise, the door will fully open and the announcement won't play.
5. Wait until the door budges open for a few inches, not when it fully opens. When that happens, quickly hold down the door open button until the door fully opens. If you fail to time this right, then the door would close back up and start moving again.

If Otis says the expected announcement, congrats! If not, oh well. I cannot guarantee that it'll work every time. The trick fails if:

1. The elevator stops for a few seconds, then starts moving again with the door still stationary
2. The door fully opens at the stopped floor without holding the door open button or when holding the door open button too early.
