I'm not gonna lie. This is going to be a long, boring video of me hacking away at a piece of wood. This is my first time cutting a scarf joint so I thought I would film the process. I had to replace a rotten beam under my house and the only way to fit it in was to cut it into two pieces and assemble it in place. This video starts with a few seconds showing the test fit. The remainder of the video is my cutting the joint.
I ended up having to repair two rotted beams so I cut another one. It went much faster the second time around.
I will be following up with a video of going into the basement to assemble it underneath the house.
