𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗦𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗣: Park Rangers Oversee Morning Cleanup Operation on Venice Beach

VENICE, CA — Friday, September 19, 2025 — A multi-agency cleanup operation took place Friday morning at Venice Beach as part of the City of Los Angeles’ ongoing effort to improve sanitation, safety, and public access along the coastline.

The sweep was led by Los Angeles Park Rangers in coordination with the Department of Public Works, the Los Angeles Police Department, Clean Harbors Environmental Services, LA County Beaches and Harbors, and the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA).

Environmental Compliance Inspectors from the Department of Public Works directed individuals to vacate the area, giving about 15 minutes to gather personal belongings before sanitation crews moved in. Inspectors then sorted through remaining items and removed any materials considered hazardous—a category that can include batteries, aerosols, or other potentially toxic waste. Clean Harbors personnel collected any dangerous materials for safe disposal, while Department of Public Works crews cleared the remaining debris.

Advance cleanup notices had been posted before enforcement. Staff from Councilwoman Traci Park’s office helped coordinate inter-agency efforts, and LAHSA outreach workers offered services including hygiene kits, food, clothing, and bottled water.

No arrests or citations were reported.
These cleanups are part of the city’s dual-track strategy to maintain public order while providing pathways to housing and support services.
