পশ্চিম বর্ধমান জেলার পানাগড় থেকে সাত কিলোমিটার দক্ষিনে, দামোদর নদের উত্তর তীরে রয়েছে এই স্থান। নাম চম্পকনগর

বিপ্রদাসের মনসামঙ্গলে চাঁদের মধুকরডিঙা ভেসে গিয়েছিল সপ্তগ্রাম বন্দর- ত্রিবেণী হয়ে সমুদ্রের অভিমুখে।নীহাররঞ্জন রায়ের বাংলার ইতিহাসের আদিপর্বে বর্তমান পূর্ব বর্ধমানের কসবার চম্পকনগরের দামোদর নদের সেই পথই সমর্থিত।
এখানে অতি প্রাচীন শিবমন্দির ছিল। এখন আর তার অস্তিত্ব নেই। কথিত আছে, শিবমন্দিরের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা স্বয়ং চাঁদ সদাগর। প্রাচীন শিবমন্দিরটি সংস্কার করে নবরূপ দান করা হয়েছে।
অনেকগুলি সিঁড়ি পেরিয়ে উঁচু ঢিবির উপরে অবস্থিত মন্দিরে প্রবেশ করতে হয়। মন্দিরে রয়েছে ছয় ফুট উচ্চতা ছয়টি কোণবিশিষ্ট শিবলিঙ্গ।
এই শিবলিঙ্গের পাশ দিয়ে গেলে পড়বে বিরাট বেল গাছ। সেই বেল গাছের একেবারে কোনে পড়বে আরেকটি শিবলিঙ্গ। এই শিবলিঙ্গটির বিশেষত্ব হলো, শিবলিঙ্গের মাথাটি নেই। জনশ্রুতি অনুসারে, কালাপাহাড় নাকি শিবলিঙ্গের মুন্ডচ্ছেদ করেছিলেন।
স্থানীয়দের কথায়,চ্যাংমুড়ির পুজো তো কোনোমতেই করতে রাজি নন চাঁদ। অপরদিকে ভোলেবাবার পরামর্শ-কেউ যখন এতো ক্ষতি করছে,তার নাম করলেই তো হয়।ক্রুদ্ধ চাঁদ দন্ডের আঘাতে শিবলিঙ্গ ভেঙে দেন, জনমানসে জন্ম নেয় মাথা কাটা শিব।
বিশাল বটবৃক্ষের নীচে অধিষ্ঠিত বিশালাকৃতি রামেশ্বর ও বাণেশ্বর জিউ শিবলিঙ্গ।
চাঁদ সর্পদংশন থেকে সপ্তম সন্তান লখিন্দরকে বাঁচাতে পাহাড় টিলায় তৈরী করেন বাসরঘর. স্থানীয়রা বলছেন, বহুদিন আগে এলাকায় খননকার্য চালাতে গিয়ে তিন কুঠুরি বিশিষ্ট এই ঘরটি নজরে আসে। একটু কালচে রং তাই দূর থেকে মনে হয় যেন জং ধরা লোহা।
এই ঘরের পাশ দিয়ে টিলা বরাবর আরেকটু উঁচুতে উঠলে পাওয়া যাবে একটি মনসা মন্দির। অদূরে চাঁদ প্রতিষ্ঠিত ভগ্নপ্রায় -আগাছা জর্জরিত প্রাচীন টেরাকোটার মনসামন্দির।কালের পথে হয়তো অতি শীঘ্রই দেহ রাখবে।

পথনির্দেশিকা:
পানাগড় স্টেশনে ট্যাঙ্কি তলা থেকে টোটো ধরে কসবা চম্পকনগর। বাসে গেলে একই জায়গা থেকে কসবা বাস স্ট্যান্ড তারপর পায়ে হাঁটা ১০ মিনিট ।
বাঁকুড়া হয়ে গেলে সোনামুখীর নদী ঘাট পেরিয়ে দামোদরের চরায় হেঁটে টোটো ধরে কসবা চম্পকনগর
মানকর স্টেশন থেকে বুদবুদ হয়েও টোটো অথবা কসবা গামী বাসেও যাওয়া যায়।

This place is located seven kilometers south of Panagarh in West Burdwan district, on the north bank of the Damodar River. Name Champaknagar
There was a very ancient Shiva temple here. Now it no longer exists. It is said that the founder of the Shiva temple was Chand Sadagar himself. The ancient Shiva temple has been renovated and given a new look.
You have to cross many stairs to enter the temple located on a high hill. There is a six-foot-high six-cornered Shiva Linga in the temple.
If you go past this Shiva Linga, you will fall on a huge bell tree. At the very corner of that bell tree, another Shiva Linga will fall. The speciality of this Shiva Linga is that the Shiva Linga does not have a head. According to legend, Kalapahar beheaded the Shivalinga.
According to locals, Chand is not willing to perform the puja at Changmuri at all. On the other hand, Bhole Baba's advice is that when someone is causing so much harm, they should just name him. An angry Chand breaks the Shivalinga with a stick, and the decapitated Shiva is born in the minds of the people.
Giant Rameshwar and Baneshwar Shivalingas are located under a huge banyan tree.
Chand built a house on a hill to save his seventh child Lakhinder from snake bites. Locals say that this three-room house came to light while doing excavation work in the area many years ago. It is a little dark in color, so from a distance it looks like rusty iron.
If you go a little higher along the hill past this house, you will find a Manasa temple. Nearby is the ancient terracotta Manasa temple built by the moon, which is almost dilapidated and overgrown with weeds. In the course of time, it may die very soon.
Directions:
From Panagarh station, take a toto from Tanki Tala to Kasba Champaknagar. If you take a bus, take a toto from the same place to Kasba bus stand and then walk for 10 minutes.
Once you reach Bankura, cross the river ghat of Sonamukhi and walk along the Damodar river to take a toto to Kasba Champaknagar
You can also take a toto or a bus to Kasba from Mankar station.
