For 1986 basic Regals, and Regal Limiteds remained basic Regals, with either the standard 3.8 EFI V6 and 3-speed automatic transmission, or optional 5.0 liter V8 and 4-speed automatic transmission. Regal T-Types were equipped with the a modified engine design, 3.8 Liter intercooled/turbocharged V6 good for 235 hp, and 330 lb/ft of torque, air conditioning and GT suspension standard. Options included Lear Siegler front seats and electronic instruments.
