In this video I'm experimenting with painting directly on the gel plate to create a tint in defined areas and finishing the image with a gradient background.
When working with a gel plate, each pull is an adventure and no two prints will ever look the same. Some will turn out and others will flop. This is part of the fun of gel plate printing.
I love the beautiful detail and the naturally rustic results you can get with this process. I hope you enjoy!
I used some leaves, moss, egg cutouts and a feather on an 5" x 7" Gelli plate. The image was printed on Canson mixed media paper for this project.
