NYC native Christopher Owens crafts heart-wrenching indie rock through classic Americana, gospel, and ‘70s pop balladry inspirations. After being the former frontman of the early 2010s breakout band Girls, Christopher Owens’ return to solo music marks a triumphant return to music’s healing power. While each of his albums remains unique in its own right, his 2024 album ‘I Wanna Run Barefoot Through Your Hair’ is a poignant reflection about overcoming adversity through guitar-driven, introspective melodies. In an intimate, stripped-down live performance, Owens uses his guitar as a companion to drive his poetic storytelling.
