In December 2025, Joann from Halifax received a gift of freedom, as we completed our first Critical RePair project for her. 💝 For over a year, Joann was housebound due to mobility issues and an unsafe staircase. In partnership with The Home Depot Canada, our team built a ramp and a front staircase for Joann, enabling her to enter and exit her home safely. We are grateful to our volunteers, staff and partners for being part of this impactful work, as we celebrate the completion of our first Critical RePair project in Nova Scotia.
The first of its kind in Nova Scotia, the Habitat Home RePair Program offers services for hire, including general carpentry, window, door repair and installation, deck projects and more. The proceeds from the Habitat Home RePair Program get reinvested into critical repairs that help low-income families and people aged 65 and older. So, you're not just getting your home repaired, but also helping a family in need stay in theirs for longer.
