Craving something comforting but with a unique twist? Try this Portuguese-Style Lasagna – a delicious, hearty dish that brings together rich flavors and simple ingredients.
In this step-by-step video, I’ll show you how to make this easy lasagna packed with a Portuguese touch. Perfect for family dinners or meal prepping for the week!
Lasagna Recipe
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
Olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
Garlic powder
Paprika
Crushed red pepper
1 knor
1/2 cup of wine
1 jar (24 oz) Prego pasta sauce
About 1/4 cup water (to rinse the jar)
Shredded mozzarella cheese
Lasagna noodles
Instructions:
Step 1: In a large pan, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Step 2: In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add chopped onions and sauté until soft and translucent.
Add garlic powder, Paprika, knor, wine and pasta sauce. Add a little bit of water to the empty jar, close the lid, shake well to loosen the remaining sauce, and pour it into the pan.
Step 3: Add the meat.
Stir everything together.
Let the sauce simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 4: Cook the Noodles. Drain and set aside.
Step 5: Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
Add a layer of lasagna noodles.
Add a layer of cheese.
Repeat the layers (meat, noodles and cheese)
Finish with a layer of meat sauce and mozzarella on top. Add Parmesan if you like.
Step 6: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 7: Cover the dish with foil.
Bake for 25 minutes covered.
Remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
