Fred and guitarist Steve DeMarchi left Sheriff in 1985 and formed the band ALIAS with Steve's brother Denny DeMarchi. They recorded the ALIAS record in the basement of Steve & Denny's home. When released it immediately got on the charts with the songs HAUNTED HEART, MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY and WAITING FOR LOVE. Eventually they teamed up with ex Heart members.
