Unwanted Love (finale)- ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band @ Pickin' Porch Stage 1- Kingsport

(go to music at 0:40) First concert at the newly designated ACMA "Pickin' Porch Stage 1" was held on 19 January 2018 at the Kingsport Renaissance Theater and featured opening by the ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band and featured performance by the young, emerging talents of Presley Barker and Shadowgrass (regular members age 13-17).

The Pickin’ Porch and it's the sponsoring agency, the Appalachian Cultural Music Association, has moved to a new home in Kingsport, Tennessee. The new Mountain Museum and Pickin' Porch Stage 2 (seating 50+) is at 316 Broad Street in downtown Kingsport TN. Pickin' Porch Stage 1 Theater (seating 325) has planned 18 events in 2018 and 2019 at the Renaissance Arts Theater on East Center Street near Wilcox Drive (just east of downtown Kingsport, Tennessee). Pickin' Porch Stage 2 will be used for the traditional weekly shows featuring mostly local and emerging artists, and the Stage 1 Theater at Renaissance Center will be used for special monthly concerts by touring bands with a modest gate charge.

The Pickin’ Porch Show is the primary funding mechanism for the ACMA and the Mountain Music Museum. Pickin' Porch show has added Kingsport sponsorship from Domtar Ridgefields and Appalachian Federal Credit Union. The Leon Kaiser Memorial Concert which funds certain scholarships in the ETSU Bluegrass, Old Time and Country Music Studies Program will continue to be held late February in the 500 seat performance center at Northeast State Community College next to Tri-Cities Regional Airport.
