Building a wooden 3D printer part 3: The Y-carriage

Aaand it's time to get the first axis sliding on my unipolar 3D printer's linear rails! In this video I make the Y-carriage subassembly that the heated printbed will sit on in the future. This subassembly rides via some springloaded roller bearings on the aluminum rails I installed in the last episode - and herein lies a problem: the V-groove bearings I had ordered specifically for this 3D printer are too low quality and would ruin my linear rails in no time! So of course I made my own much higher quality V-groove rollers using some plastic waste and "normal" ball bearings. And yes, my wooden 3D printer now has plastic parts on it - something I kind of wanted to avoid on principle - however since THESE PARTS WERE NOT 3D PRINTED but rather made using pretty primitive tools, this DIY 3D printer stays, in fact, a machine you can build WITHOUT already owning a 3D printer or any other CNC machine for that matter! Needing a 3D printer for the build is actually what I perceived as one of the major annoyances with most DIY 3D printer designs out there...
