Over the weekend, the Téléthon, a French charitable phone-in event, managed to raise more than €80 million for research on rare diseases. In recent decades, the Téléthon has played on important role in bringing attention to cystic fibrosis. Today, a treatment described as "miraculous" has been proven to significantly improve the lung capacity of patients in just a few days. The medication is called Kaftrio and was first authorised in 2021. FRANCE 24's Julia Sieger takes a closer look.
