About Nimrod XV232-
The aircraft starred its life at RAF St Mawgan (Cornwall) in 1970 as a submarine hunter /Search & Rescue (SAR) aircraft. XV232 also was based Both at RAF Kinloss (Scotland) & RAF Luqa (Malta) as a Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft.
Falklands War (1982) the aircraft conducted flights to monitor the South Atlantic for Argentinian naval activity. During one of these sorties this aircraft made history by have an 18 hours 50 minutes consist flight & flown over 8,453 miles.
