남해 금산 여행기입니다.
금산(錦山)이란 이름은 조선 태조 이성계가 지었다고 합니다.
The name Geumsan (錦) was named by King Taejo Lee Seong-gye of the Joseon Dynasty.
신라 시대에는 원효대사가 지은 보광사의 이름을 따 보광산이라고 불리웠습니다.
It had been called Bogwang Mountain after Bogwang Temple, which had been built by Saint Wonhyo in the Shinar Era,.
조선을 건국한 이성계는 기도를 들어 준 보답으로 산에 비단을 내리려 했습니다.
Lee Seong-gye founded at Bogwang Mountain.In return for responding to his prayers, he promised to cover silk all over the mountain.
하지만 산 전체를 비단으로 덮을 수 없어 산 이름으로 대신했다고 합니다.
But it was impossible to cover the mountain with silk.
It was replaced by the name of the mountain.
사실이든 전설이든, 임금이 이름을 하사했다는 산은 남해 금산이 유일합니다.
Whether it was true or a legend, Geumsan in Namhae is the only mountain that the king gave the name to.
