2025 Audi A6, S6 Sportback e-Tron First Drive: The Perfect EV Sedan?

The Audi A6 has gone all-electric, with the new sportback A6 e-Tron and S6 e-Tron building on the longstanding success of Audi’s mid-size sedan nameplate with its Premium Platform Electric architecture. West Coast Bureau Chief Conner Golden was on hand at the duo’s debut in California, where he drove both ahead of their production launch. With output starting at 375 horsepower in the single-motor rear-wheel-drive A6 e-Tron and topping out at 543 hp in the dual-motor S6 e-Tron, these aren’t sleepy commuter EVs. This is especially true with Audi’s impressive Digital Stage display cluster, with an 11.9-inch driver display, 14.5-inch infotainment display and optional 10.9-inch passenger display. The austere and reserved interior space is one of the nicer and well-translated spaces on the market. However, the luxury mid-size electric sedan space is crowded — and popular.
