Carle Schlaff: The FBI Informant Turned Serial Killer...

When FBI agent Carle Schlaff took a seat across from Scott Lee Kimball, an inmate at Englewood prison in Colorado, he hoped that what he had to say was good - and it was. Kimball told Schlaff all about a murder plot he’d uncovered which was being orchestrated by his cellmate. But Kimball had more information to share, and before long, he was asking to become an FBI informant. Schlaff didn’t think anything could go wrong. Kimball was in prison for various fraud charges but nothing violent, and he claimed he wanted to go straight.

For Schalff, this seemed like a great opportunity. But then everything went wrong. In 2003 and 2004, Kimball murdered four people. He was sentenced to seventy years behind bars in 2009.
