The Ethiopian Throne: From Queen Sheba to the Ark of the Covenant
This is a Black-centered Bible story that follows Queen Makeda of Sheba, King Solomon, and their son Menelik to show how Ethiopia and Africa have always stood at the heart of biblical history, not at the margins. This episode explores claims that the Ark of the Covenant has been guarded in Axum, Ethiopia for over 2,000 years and uses the Kebra Nagast to trace how Menelik carried the Ark from Jerusalem to Ethiopia, presenting Ethiopia as a “second Zion” and a living reminder that black people in the Bible were always chosen and present, not added later. Drawing on passages like Psalm 68:31, the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8, Ebed-Melech, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, and repeated references to Egypt and Ethiopia, the story confronts myths that Christianity is a “white man’s religion” and lifts up the deep roots of Ethiopian, Egyptian, and African churches, African theologians, Beta Israel, and persecuted Ethiopian believers as part of one continuous Black biblical story.
This content is created and edited purely for education and entertainment, inviting proud Black Americans and all viewers to reclaim their biblical identity, study African church history, support persecuted African Christians, and reject whitewashed images of the faith while engaging thoughtfully and respectfully with Scripture and tradition.
