Work as Play was filmed in February of 1972 on the front deck of the ferryboat SS Vallejo, Alan Watts’ studio home in Sausalito, California. It is one of nine programs recorded by Mark Watts of his father that weekend, and two more were recorded at Druid Heights in the ‘Twin Peaks’ house at Druid Heights, the mountain retreat where Alan went to contemplate, write, and experiment in various media.
