This week we present the 2025 episode of our End-of-the-Year interview tradition, an interview where Karan Thapar is the interviewee and is toughly or teasingly questioned by an interviewer we have invited on the show. This is what I call, tongue-in-cheek, 'The Revenge Interview'.



It’s an opportunity for a well-known and highly regarded individual, with a sense of wit, satire and a flair for repartee, to interview Karan Thapar and reverse the tables. The guest is free to ask whatever he or she wants and to pursue and persist to whatever extent he or she wishes to. There are no bars or limitations whatsoever. Neither the subject nor the duration of the interview have been discussed in advance. It’s conducted by the guest exactly as he or she wants. The idea is to have good natured fun and to lampoon and mimic but, if it’s so develops, there can also be moments of tension, innuendo and, even, of pillorying. The choice is entirely left to the guest interviewer.



On this occasion the guest interviewer is the extremely well-known and highly popular YouTuber, journalist, radio jockey and political satirist, Akash Banerjee in the avatar of Bhakt Banerjee. Neither Akash Banerjee nor Bhakt Banerjee need any introduction. They are far more popular than our programme. It was, therefore, a pleasure and privilege to have him do the interview.
