David from Amber Valley Drum School looks at the Sonor KGL30 Concert Glockenspiel.
Featuring 2.5 octaves special alloy note bars (g2 - c5) The KGL 30 is made in the Sonor Glockenspiel and drum factory in Germany, where each individual note bar is hand tuned by master craftsmen. When this actual Glockenspiel was being built, my friend over at Sonor sent me photo updates and i have photos of these very note bars being hand tuned... Sonor Drums and Percussion are well known for their fantastic build quality and attention to detail!
For any percussionist looking for a great quality glockenspiel / orchestral bells, I would have no hesitation in recommending the Sonor KGL30.
