Launching Egypt’s First UN Security Council Simulation on Women, Peace & Security

We officially launched the Simulation Model of the Open Debate of the United Nations Security Council on Women, Peace & Security at the National Council for Women.
The event brought together more than 200 students from various universities, who learned about the program’s goals, structure, and the application process. It marked the first step toward preparing a new generation of youth leaders in diplomacy, negotiation, and peacebuilding.

The launch also featured the presence of distinguished VIP guests and partners, including representatives from the National Council for Women, UN Women, and the Youth Leaders Foundation, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Women, Peace & Security (WPS) Agenda.

Students had the opportunity to explore:
• The global importance of the Women, Peace & Security agenda.
• How the UNSC Simulation will unfold.
• How they can apply to become one of the 50 selected participants in the high-level simulation.
This launch marks the beginning of a meaningful journey for Egypt’s youth to engage in global dialogue and contribute to shaping peace and security.

This initiative is implemented within the framework of partnership between the National Council for Women (NCW), UN Women Egypt, and Youth Leaders Foundation, with the generous support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

إطلاق أول نموذج محاكاة لجلسة النقاش المفتوحة لمجلس الأمن حول "المرأة والسلام والأمن" بالمجلس القومي للمرأة.

الفعالية جمعت أكثر من 200 طالب وطالبة من مختلف الجامعات، تعرفوا خلالها على أهداف البرنامج وطريقة التقديم للمشاركة فيه، ويمثل هذا الإطلاق الخطوة الأولى لإعداد جيل جديد من الشباب والشابات القادرين على القيادة في مجالات الدبلوماسية والتفاوض وبناء السلام.

وشهد الحدث حضور عدد من الشخصيات البارزة وممثلي الشركاء، من بينهم ممثلون عن المجلس القومي للمرأة وهيئة الأمم المتحدة للمرأة ومؤسسة شباب القادة، وذلك احتفالًا بالذكرى الخامسة والعشرين لإطلاق أجندة المرأة والسلام والأمن (WPS).

خلال الفعالية، استكشف الطلاب والطالبات:
• الأهمية العالمية لأجندة المرأة والسلام والأمن.
• كيفية تنفيذ نموذج المحاكاة لمجلس الأمن.
• طريقة التقديم ليكونوا ضمن خمسين مشارك سيتم اختيارهم للمحاكاة.

يتم تنفيذ هذه المبادرة في إطار الشراكة بين اﻟﻤﺠﻠﺲ اﻟﻘﻮﻣﻲ ﻟﻠﻤﺮأة، وﻫﻴﺌﺔ اﻷﻣﻢ اﻟﻤﺘﺤﺪة ﻟﻠﻤﺮأة، وﻣﺆﺳﺴﺔ ﺷﺒﺎب اﻟﻘﺎدة، بدعم من ﻣﻦ اﻟﻮﻛﺎﻟﺔ اﻹﺳﺒﺎﻧﻴﺔ ﻟﻠﺘﻌﺎون اﻟﺪوﻟﻲ من أجل التنمية.
