The bodywork is solid and straight, the engine bay is clean and good shape. The front bumper with tow hooks, fits tightly to the body. This car has amber lamps and a blue emergency light, working sirens un the hood, untested radios and all kinds of good military accessories.

This Jeep rolls on older Goodyear tires, 7.00-16 LW at all four corners. The tires are mounted on steel wheels painted olive drab. The wheels and tires are all in good condition.

Under the hood is a good running 141.5 CID inline four-cylinder engine with a snorkel for fording bodies of water. Backing this motor is a four-speed manual transmission and a part-time transfer case.

There are two single seats for driver and front passenger and a fold-up rear bench seat. Other on-board equipment includes a .50-caliber prop machine gun, shovel, jerry can, axe and other military-grade items. There is a black, three-spoke steering wheel and a console-mounted shifter. This Jeep comes with a matching two-wheel trailer. While this Jeep is fun to run with the top down it does come with its original canvas soft top and Fairweather side curtains. All showing some nice patina and authenticity.

In 1951, Ford Motor Company was awarded the contract to design a ¼-ton 4×4 truck to replace the aging M38 and M38A1 model jeeps. The M151 was developed to specifications and guidance of the U.S. Army's Ordnance Tank Automotive Command. Design started in 1951 and testing and prototyping lasted through most of the fifties. Although the M151 was developed and initially produced by Ford, production contracts for the M151A2 were later also awarded to Kaiser and AM General Corp, a subsidiary of AMC.

The A2, which came out in 1968, fielded a significantly revised rear suspension that greatly improved safety in fast cornering. The M151 now had Semi-trailing arm suspension. Many smaller upgrades including improved turn signals. The A2 can be identified by the large combination turn signal/blackout lights on the front fenders, which also had been modified to mount the larger lights, as opposed to earlier A1's that had flat front fenders.
