Animals As Leaders-CHEAT CODE for 4 String Bass‼️PHYSICAL EDUCATION🎸

🔥Tosin Abasi and “Animals As Leaders”, has been devastating lovers of progressive rock (like myself!) with INCREDIBLE songs, guitar (& drum) wizardry, and a technique I believe Tossin calls “Thumping”.
—I play the technique here as I believe Tosin plays it, but I also include what I call the a “shortcut” or “cheat“ for 4 string bass guitar.

👎🚫👍Big bass strings are not as forgiving for up-and-down strokes with the thumb (if they’re not played well) and can suffer a loss of definition when playing Tosin’s technique on bass [in my opinion].
—My “cheat” allows for only traditional down-strokes with the thumb, and plucking with only your 1st finger. I did not speak on the Left-Hand muting and “patting” in this vid because, if you’re familiar with the song, it will come to you naturally. Just keep in mind that almost every note is staccato, i.e., “played for a short & unsustained duration/ detached”.
Also, playing Tosin’s technique can becaome easier to play as you increase the tempo, because of the “momentum” from your right hand…so stick with it!

✨The band Animals As Leaders does not have a bass player🎸😔, so there’s no real way to officially know what a bass player would play if the band had a bassist (outside of asking the band themselves), but this “cheat”/ short-cut worked really well when I performed the song with an ensemble, —and I hope it helps ya!
