Respecting a child’s views is one of the four principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. A child's visual expression is an important part of the living environment.
In Pori, children's own thoughts are valued. The playful spirit of children, the royals of everyday life, lifts both the pants and the crown onto the flag. The flag series waves with the city’s history, the present, and the future.
These ceremonial flags will be raised annually on the flagpoles of Raatihuoneenpuisto Park in Pori, in honor of Children’s Rights Week. The flags were designed at the Kruunupää Centre for Children's Culture based on sketches by children and youth.
