A buddies boat showed signs of a soft deck. After weighing the possibilities, we dived in to expose the rotten deck core. We ended up re-coring the deck from the hull to cabin along the port and starboard sides. We also ended up gel coating the whole topside, laying non-skid, painting the non-skid; basically, a whole topside job. This was a big project that takes more time than one would estimate.
After getting into it a bit, we had Rafael of Carmona Premium Services (carmonapremiumservices@gmail.com; 562.326.8941) take over the rest of the work. We learned a lot from him. We highly recommend him if you need cosmetic and structural work done on your boat in the Los Angeles & OC areas.
The boat not only looks better but is much stronger (rigid).
