Shri Krishn Dwadashi is a collection of twelve enchanting compositions by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, describing the head-to-toe beauty of Shri Krishn, with each poem focusing on one part of His divine body. This is the ninth of the twelve compositions. English translation provided below.
neelmani neeli bhujana nihaar
(O Sakhi! Look at the beautiful blue arms of Shyamsundar)
kumkuma mishtrita harichandan ko, lepa sugandhi apaar
(These arms have been smeared with divinely fragrant
sandalwood paste mixed with ‘kumkum’)
ratana jatit kanakana kankana ki, duti daamini anuhaar
(The gold bracelets studded with precious stones around His wrist have a special radiance that almost appears to be like lightening)
baajubanda peetima neeli, tanu duti mili balihaar
(The yellow colour from His gold armlets attain a unique lustre mingling with the blue colour of His arms)
kartala laal kamal komal bhala, mohini muralihun dhaar
(His soft palms are striking red like the colour of a red lotus, which are also holding an enchanting flute)
kaha ‘kripalu’ nandalaal dvibhuja son, brajarasikan son pyaar
(Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj says, “The rasiks of Braj only worship and adore Shyamsundar, who is of two-arms (as opposed to Lord Vishnu, who has four arms)”)
