فيلم طريق الى حلب يروي قصة روني، ممرض كردي سوري يعيش في ألمانيا، يعود سرًا إلى وطنه الذي تمزقه الحرب بحثًا عن والدته التي كان يعتقد أنها ميتة. خلال رحلته، يصطدم بواقع الحرب الوحشي. برفقة نورا، الصحفية الشجاعة، يواجه المخاطر والصراعات الأخلاقية، ليكتشف الحقيقة المؤلمة عن عائلته والمآسي التي ألمّت بسوريا.

„The Road to Aleppo”
Rony lives and works as a nurse in Germany. He finds out, that his mother, who disappeared many years ago, was imprisoned in Syria. He enters the country illegally from Turkey and witnesses the atrocities of civil war. Together with the journalist Nora and the commander of the opposition army Yousef they are able to locate his mother. Nevertheless the civil war takes its toll and a dramatic family story unfolds.
With quite impressive pictures author and director Shiar Abdi tells us a traumatic story on original locations with amateur actors, whose inexperience never shows. Quite simply they make us see and feel their emotional everyday lives within a continuing civil war.
