Founded just 10 years ago, the Harvard Stem Cell Institute has grown into the world's leading center of stem cell science. With more than 100 principal investigators and more than 1,000 scientists collaborating across Harvard's schools and affiliated hospitals, HSCI is on the verge of bringing into the clinic new treatments for Lou Gehrig's disease, diabetes, some cancers, and even aging. As it enters they enter their second decade under the HSCI umbrella, this gathering of scientists from Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, are focused on the development of treatments and cures for the major conditions plaguing our aging population.
