This is such an underrated plant! It likes sandy soil profiles and protection from frosts. You should plant the corms in the early fall and or early spring as soon as the soil thaws, at a depth of 5 - 8 cm from the top of the dormant corm to soil surface level. They like to dry out between waterings, and arent heavy feeders. I recommend planting them en masse for visual effect, and I also recommend them for the borders of rock gardens. You can get more blooms later on in the season (around September) by pinching back bloom stalks approximately half way down, once all blooms on that particular stalk have faded. The roots of all members of the Tigridia genus are edible and taste somewhat like Jicama. (They're very starchy and kinda small). Other species of Tigridia, aside from pavonia, may be found in the southern cordillera of Chile and Peru. Highly recommend this plant yall, it grows to a height of about 2 feet. Have a good day you guys, stay blessed ❤❤🕺
