Here's our easy DIY guide on how to perform a minor service (oil change) on a VW Golf 5 Gti. This is an easy job you can do at home within an hour. You simply drain the oil, remove the oil filter housing, replace the oil filter and o-ring, then re-install the new parts.
Safety:
We also cover the process on how to securely jack and support your car on jack stands. Don't support the car on suspension components.
Tools Required:
Car Jack (1.5ton or higher)
x2 Car/Jack Stands
36mm socket
19mm socket
1/4" Rachet
T15mm Torx
Torque Wrench / Powerbar / T-Bar
Longnose pliers
Parts:
5L 5w40 Engine Oil
Oil Filter
Sump plug and washer
