Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries work great, but can fail to charge when temperatures fall below freezing. In this video, we take Renogy's Smallest, lightest, and fastest self-heating battery, the new Duo Heat 100Ah Mini CORE LiFePO4 Battery, for a real-life road test during the heart of winter. We also did a more controlled test by putting the battery in our freezer overnight and then observed how fast the self-heating cycle lasted.

While all batteries can struggle to charge as their internal temperatures drop near freezing, only Self-Heating LiFePO4 batteries have an internal function to gently warm up the battery so it can be ready to charge. We put the latest, Mini-Core Battery to the test in the middle of winter.

What We Like About this Battery:
1. High Capacity in a Small Package. 100Ah at 21 lbs. & 9.02" x 5.43" x 8.39"
2. Series or Parallel Configurations Possible. Achieve the voltage, amperage, and capacity you need between 12V – 48V.
3. Self-Heating begins when the battery reaches an internal temperature of 41F and when there is a charging source of at least 10A. Heating stops at 50F.
4. Easy wireless monitoring. This battery can be combined with the Renogy Battery Shunt 300 and the Renogy ONE Core monitor.
5. Vibration Resistant. With it's location in the back of our truck it needs to be resilient.
6. Long Lasting. This battery can give up to 5000 cycles, which could last up to 12-13 years with proper usage and care.
