14 Strings! Cornell Filipino Rondalla introduced their newly-formed 14 Strings! ELECTRIC Rondalla last April 12, 2014 in their annual spring concert/benefit for the survivors of Typhoon Haiyan in Estancia, Iloilo.
As far as we know, this electric Rondalla is the only one in existence. Featuring the traditional Filipino 14-stringed instruments with solid body construction. The band was the vision of luthier Cliff Scherer who also built the instruments.
This Part 1 of the Michael Jackson Medley was arranged by Regie Bernaldez and features excerpts of the songs - BLACK or WHITE, THRILLER, BILLIE JEAN, BAD, BEAT IT, and THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL.
Electric players include Tomas Rojo on Octavina (Spain), Shiyi Li on Banduria 1 (China), Ian Malgapo on Banduria 2 (Philippines), Art Bakert on rhythm Guitar (United States), John Palmore on electric Bass Guitar (United States) and Dan Collins on Cajon (United States).
