In this episode, we talk with Katie Roche, the Chief Instructor of Naginata at Ken-Zen Institute and Head Coach of the Columbia University Naginata Club. Katie shares her journey through various martial arts and her path to becoming a naginata teacher at a young age. She also discusses the challenges faced by women and mixed-race individuals in the dojo and how these issues reflect broader social challenges such as sexism and racism.
