Toxic chemicals are legally released by many businesses. Those that exceed specific thresholds report releases under EPA’s Toxic Release Inventory (TRI).
The chemical’s level of toxicity, its fate and transport through the environment and potential human exposure vary by location. EPA developed the RSEI tool to help establish priorities for further investigation.
This webinar will cover some basic information about RSEI and show examples of its usefulness to the SBEAP technical assistance professional.
Bio:
Jean Waters is a business sustainability consultant working with small to medium-sized businesses on sustainable business processes and strategies to analyze their triple bottom line, balancing impacts on People, Profit, and Planet.
She was Deputy State Director for the Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC), where she supervised and worked with NBDC consultants in the small business development centers, the Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC), the Pollution Prevention Regional Information Center (P2RIC), the Technology Commercialization Program, and the Export Program.
She previously served as program manager for the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange (P2Rx) national network and was Director of the Pollution Prevention Institute at Kansas State University.
