How to Build Your Resume and Find Friends at the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business

When Grace Murray (B’27) arrived on campus, she didn’t have to look far to find her people. “I met two of my best friends the very first night of orientation,” she said. From there, friendships grew through late-night study sessions in the dorm, class projects, and involvement in organizations across campus.

As an Accounting and Finance double-major, Grace dove right in and joined Women in Business, the Student Accounting Association, the Accounting Mentorship Program, and Delta Sigma Pi (a professional business fraternity). Those groups not only gave her leadership experience but also some of her favorite memories—like enjoying a Pirates game with friends from Delta Sigma Pi.

She’s also gained real-world experience outside the classroom, preparing tax returns for families through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and participating in the BUILD Leadership Program.

“It’s amazing how many doors open when you just get involved," she said. "I’ve been able to grow academically, professionally, and personally—all while having fun with the friends I’ve made here.”

From campus connections to real-world experience, Grace’s difference-making journey is just getting started.
