Here is a video we did with www.thatsfarming.com to show a different side of farming in Ireland.
We visited with Thomas Galvin of Moyasta Oysters in Poulnasherry Bay in Co.Clare to see the process of farming oysters.
The Galvin family has been farming oysters in the bay for over 20 years with Michael Galvin handing over the reigns of the company to his son Thomas in 2012.
With Thomas at the helm, and with the help of his brother Bernard acting as farm manager, the company has continued to grow and has embraced new technologies to help make the incredibly difficult job of farming oysters less labour intensive.
Thomas tells us all about the process in the video.
This was a difficult shoot for us as we were battling the rising tide. By the end of the interview our peli cases were floating around us and the eroding sand caused our tripod to collapse and 2 cameras and audio equipment to come crashing to the ground! Thankfully we always have spares and we used our backup camera and lenses to finish the shoot.
We have to say, after all our work with www.thatsfarming.com, it's certainly one of the most unusual farms we have visited.
If you would like us to help tell your company’s story you can find us at www.goldenmeanmedia.com
